Veggie one
This was my favourite restaurant of all time - absolutely superb chinese vegetarian food, and very friendly proprietors. We have been going there for years. I was absolutely gutted when we discovered they had closed down. If anyone has any information as to where they have relocated (if they have started a restaurant elsewhere), PLEASE post here and let us know. I would crawl over broken glass for their abalone mushrooms.

Lovely welcome, lovely food, a friendly service. An excellent restaurant for vegans and vegetarians. Don't be put off by having to travel a little, take the time to go there and enjoy excellent vegan/vegetarian Chinese food.

322, Limpsfield Rd, South Croydon Chinese veggie restaurant based on old Buddhist recipes with 'meat' and 'fish' dishes made from vegetables. We received a friendly greeting on arrival and given a window table in this fairly plain, even stark, establishment. The waitress was happy to explain the food choices and help us with the menu. Drinks menu, is not extensive, was adequate with several organic beers and wines. I've eaten similar food in South-East Asia. Although not quite to the 'home-grown' standard, there was nothing one could complain about and we enjoyed every mouthful. Recommended? Certainly. Not just a veggie place but amongst Croydon's best Chinese restaurants as well.
